I almost totally agree. It seems like when we are doing our best, Satan is right behind us, or ahead of us, making things that hinder us looks soooooo beautiful to us -- because remember he was the most beloved angel of all, if I'm not mistaken, the lead musician, the angelic locks (pun), everything God had hoped for in his assembly, then he (Satan) became a jealous one and fell away from God, thinking he was better than the One who created him.

So this jealous one, Satan, gets probably more and more envious of those who are on the right path with God, who seek His salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, that he (Satan) is infuriated that someone could actually love Him more than anything else in the world, so obviously, he would toil around and try to get us to turn away, in whatever little way he can.

It makes perfect sense that he'd try so hard to push us away from what God intended for us, especially those who arouse the jealousy ingrained in his heart, if he has one...which I doubt.

Entirely possible. It's also possible that the more we turn to God in the face of those trials, Satan may eventually back down. As Beth Moore puts it, the last thing the enemy wants to do is encourage us to praise God. So as long as what he's doing is working, and destroying us, separating us from God, he'll keep at it. Once he sees that it's having the opposite effect, he may well leave us alone.

God limits the power of the enemy in the lives of His children so if we are under His care and filled with the Spirit, the attacks have to go through Him - perhaps to build us and strengthen us, to prepare us for the ultimate battle, or perhaps to encourage us to break our ties with the material, things that we have placed our security and our hearts in rather than depending on God.

Truth is, I don't think anyone has the answers, and there are probably as many answers as there are individual situations. And the answers may well be simply a mixture of all the things mentioned and perhaps some more that no one ever thought of within our limited earthly means to comprehend. But one thing is true, and sure: no matter what happens to us on this earth, no matter what trials we may bear, it is our choice- and a better choice - to remind ourselves of the sovereignty of God and to trust our lives, souls, selves, and all that means anything to us, to His care. The important thing, after all, is not on this earth - but everlasting beyond it.
