This past weekend my wife Helen and I spent some time in Pennsylvania enjoying the fall foliage. It was amazing to see how the tree’s leaves turn into such incredible colors. As we drove through one of the most beautiful parts of this country I couldn’t help but look in awe at God’s perfect creation.
As I saw the trees losing their leaves it reminded me of how God’s grace renews us everyday.
2 Corinthians 4:15-17
15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
Just as the trees shed their leaves in the fall we can shed the things that keep us from fully experiencing God grace. God tell us that by shedding those things we are renewed to enjoy the glory that is greater than anything we can imagine.
Praise be to God for the beauty that surrounds us, and praise be to God for the grace He rains down on us. I pray that we all shed the parts of us that are decayed and ask God to renew our hearts with His grace.
